Hello and welcome to our website and the Ranpak Blog! My name is David Gabrielsen and I am Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ranpak Corporation, a position I have held since March of 2002. Since 1972, Ranpak has been a global supplier of paper-based, in-the-box, protective packaging materials. We market our patented systems globally and maintain operations in Ohio, Nevada, Kansas, Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
Our Company’s name, Ranpak, is actually an abbreviation of the words: “random packaging.” Our products are most effective in applications where customers ship a large number of products of different sizes and weights in a large number of different boxes. Every day, throughout the world, Ranpak packaging systems are used to package everything from CD’s and DVD’s to school books and motorcycle parts. Our products are used in light-duty void fill applications, heavy duty cushioning and bracing applications, and truly every imaginable application in between. Versatility, cost competitiveness and speed are the hallmarks of our products.
Simply said, our materials are less expensive and more cost stable than competitive alternatives. Our machines allow packers to pack more boxes per minute than any alternative. Many of our competitors now claim they are earth-friendly, but the truth is that over 62% of paper consumed in the US is in turn recycled into other products. Many say their product is recyclable, but our product is actually recycled.
